How it Works

ParkMate’s new functionality allows you to open car park roller doors and pedestrian entry and exit-ways directly through the app. This new integration allows us to operate at gated car parks, that provides an additional layer of security for our customers. Learn how it works below:

Parking at a Roller Door Car Park

Step 1

Drive up to the roller door at the car park. Open the ParkMate app and select the car park and parking product.

At the 'Parking Details' screen, in the 'Lane selection' tab, select the entry lane you will be using to enter the car park. If there is only one entry/exit lane, you do not have to select anything.

Next select your licence plate and payment method and tap 'Confirm and start parking' to begin your session.
Step 2

Once you start your session, the roller door will open allowing you to drive in and park your vehicle.

You can use the 'Roller door' button (top right button in blue) in case the roller door didn't open automatically when you started your session.
Step 3

2 minutes after starting your session, the 'Pedestrian door' button (top left button) will become available.
Step 4

Tap the 'Pedestrian door' button to open the doorway to exit the car park after parking your vehicle. Please tap this button when you are at the door.
Exiting the car park - Step 1

Tap on 'View session' to see your active session. Here you will see the buttons for both the 'Pedestrian door' and car park 'Roller door'. Tap on the 'Pedestrian door' button to enter into the car park.
Exiting the car park - Step 2

Get into your vehicle, and drive to the car park roller door. End your session when you are in the exit lane in front of the roller door. Select your exit lane (if applicable) and the car park roller door will open automatically.
Exiting the car park (alt.)- Step 1

If you ended your session early, you can still temporarily access the pedestrian and roller doors by tapping on 'View session' at the bottom of the home screen on your expired session.
Exiting the car park (alt.)- Step 2

For 5 minutes after ending your session, you can still use the pedestrian and roller door buttons to exit the car park.

If it has been longer than 5 minutes, you can no longer use these buttons to leave the car park. Call ParkWatch at: 09 375 5056 for assistance.

Please Note:

You should start your session when in the entry lane at the roller door to the car park. Please do not start your session far in advance. The roller door will automatically open when you start your session.
The ‘Pedestrian door‘ button will only become available 2 minutes after starting your session. This is to allow you time to park your vehicle and make your way to the car park exit.
When ready to leave, make sure you are in the exit lane at the roller door before ending your session, as the roller door will automatically open upon ending your session. You will have access to the car park ‘Roller door‘ button up to 5 minutes after ending your session.
